Sage & Fifth Therapy Place, a mindfulness based therapy private practice in Washington, DC is looking to hire a Full-time or Part time Couples Therapist (LPC/ LGPC/ LMFT/ LCSW/ LICSW). We provide specialized therapy for clients and offer Couples Therapy as a self-pay therapy service only so our therapists are compensated at the highest level.
We’re looking to expand our team to meet the demands of Couples therapy from our existing and new clients. We currently have 3 other Couples therapists on the team with full caseloads and need another Couples Therapist to join our team to take clients off the waitlist. The ideal candidate must have experience providing Couples therapy and already be trained in Couples therapy (Ideally Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy). Candidates who have experience in other modalities for Couples Therapy who want to get training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy will be considered for a full time position and practice will provide EFT training through the ICEEFT.
Preference for independently licensed therapists but candidates who are not already independently licensed will be considered and we will also provide individual and group supervision for LPC licensure in Washington, DC.
We help our therapists develop a caseload that feels good to them, from minimum 10 clients for part-time clinicians to 25 clients for full time clinicians. We also offer flexible schedules. While we are fully remote at the moment, we will be offering office space for in person sessions in the future.
Ideal candidates must have an interest in serving diverse populations, integrating mindfulness in their psychotherapy practice, and developing specialized therapy skills. We’re looking for candidates who are motivated to grow as a clinician, are self-motivated, warm, compassionate, good with tech and looking to become an integral part of our growing psychotherapy practice.
The position is open for candidates looking to work 100% remotely or in a hybrid role in the future (with a combination of remote and in-person sessions (Remote candidates must maintain a license in Washington, DC in addition to the state they are based in).

We provide our therapists with end to end administrative and billing support with an EMR for notes, scheduling, telehealth visits and billing. All our scheduling is via our online portal which is more convenient for therapists and for clients.

Responsibilities:
Establish positive, trusting rapport with clients.
Meet with clients regularly to provide couples counseling and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Create individualized treatment plans according to client needs and circumstances and monitor progress throughout the treatment plan.
Collaborate on intervention plans with individual therapists and psychiatrists, as needed.
Conduct client consultations for clients referred by the practice.
Maintain timely and accurate client documentation, progress notes and treatment plans.
Compensation:
Competitive pay structure - For Part time Therapists (Caseload of minimum 10 sessions per week) $115 to 150 per hour for Couples Therapy sessions, based on clinicians experience and licensure status and $60 to $90 for regular talk therapy sessions. For Full-time therapists (Caseload of 23+ sessions per week) Compensation Package of 78k+ with paid leave, training benefits and a telecommunications allowance.
Extensive Training & CEU support, e.g. fully funded ICEEFT Externship and Core Skills Trainings in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Perinatal Mental Health Trainings, EMDR & Trauma trainings, LGBTQIA+ trainings., Polyamory & Kink-awareness trainings.
Individual and group supervision included for LPC licensure in DC for LGPC therapists.
Eligibility Requirements:
Completion of Masters in Counseling/ Mental Health/ Social work/ Marriage Family Therapy or higher
LPC/ LMFT/ LGPC/ LICSW/ PhD/ PsyD in DC required.
Must have prior experience working with diverse populations and couples therapy.
Must have a commitment to provide culturally competent care.
Tech-savvy and familiar with EMRs
This position is open to candidates for remote work but candidates from outside of DC must have DC professional license and a professional license in their resident state.
Preference for:
Therapists trained in or familiar with Emotionally Focused Couples therapy or other Couples Therapy modalities
Preference for independently licensed clinicians but clinicians not independently licensed will be considered.
Applicants who demonstrate experience in mindfulness practices or have a personal mindfulness/ Yoga practice.
Candidates licensed in DC and another state such as MD and/or Virginia.
